This world is FULL of great advice, huh? You can Google pretty much anything (and I do all.of.the.time) and there are more courses, websites, forums, and free webinars than you can shake a bullhorn at and yell “I think I’m good!” And it’s easy to get wrapped up in, right? I know from experience that you can spend weeks (if not months) taking all of the free online courses and then spend thousands upon thousands for the ones that cost dough. You can, and you will, if you don’t watch out for this one tip:
“Don’t reinvent the wheel. Look at the successful models and do what they are doing. You’ll make 6 figures like they did in no time.”
Total crap. Okay, not total crap but pretty much. Seriously, I’m telling you to ignore that advice or pretty much anything that starts to sound like it. Why? Because the world needs more of YOU. I need you. The kid fresh out of high school needs you. The girl who’s be-bopped her way from job to job looking for the “right fit” needs you. Your voice. Your story.
We’ve seen/met/heard from the other people who do what you do … and it’s not working for us! Let me say it again, we NEED you. Am I saying that the business models that work aren’t worth following? Nope (unless they aren’t working for YOU, but that’s another story). Just that “reinventing the wheel” often looks like infusing a whole lotta YOU into your business and your message.
Want to know why you keep taking/buying course after course looking for the “right” answer? The magic message?
It’s because that secret message doesn’t exist. The “secret” is to bring more of you to the table. Tell your story, infuse the world with who you are.
My friend Reese talked storytelling (and just so happens to use my About Me page as an example — thanks, girl! –) over on her blog recently. See what Reese has to say on the subject – she’s not shy about sharing how she really feels.
Need help telling your story to the world? Want ideas on how to share who you really are? Ready to surround yourself with people who love you for you?
Respond to this email and tell me your story – the full extended feature film version or just the bullet points. Let’s put it all together and give you that magic you’ve been searching for this whole time.
