Drama is everywhere, right? As someone who used to love being involved in other people’s businesses in a major way, it’s very easy for me to get wrapped up in a bunch of drama that simply isn’t mine to own.
AND, as a yogi, I know that doing so causes more harm than good and the whole point of what I do (what I LOVE doing) is to create less drama, less stress, and more love for the beautiful business owners and humans all around me. So, how to stay in the drama free zone and still be committed to the greater good? A Polish idiom, of course.
Loosely translated, it means “Not my problem”. Buuuuutttt, I think it does that phrase one better. The Polish have it right: drama (of any kind) is such a circus: a show that might be entertaining but really has no value to add to your life. A circus is a spectacle, nothing more.
And monkeys? Monkeys are, well, bananas. (ha) But seriously, monkeys are notorious for causing trouble, getting into things they shouldn’t, and they are wicked hard to wrangle. People often refer to a wandering mind as “monkey mind” – wild, out of control, all over the place.
When you go to the circus, you don’t run out into the middle of the big top and take over, do you? So why bring that same energy into your everyday life and biz?
If it’s not your circus and not your monkey, don’t get involved.
