Just over a year ago, I was fired from my job that I thought was a “dream job” and left to either:
1) wallow, or
2) rock it
Yes, truly, those were my choices. So I did #1 for about 4 hours after I got that phone call and then #2 followed close behind that. In fact, within 3 days I had a full client roster and aspire&grow was so much more than a dream. I put my mind to it, rallied some support around me, and told everyone what I was up to. I asked for help. I hustled. I did the work.
And, over a year later, it is so gratifying.
In roughly four weeks I’ll be giving birth to another kind of dream: my first child. And, just like that little business dream required, giving birth to this little girl is going to take focus, support, and a whole lot of trust.
See, bringing any dream into this world (be it a child or your new program or offering) can be a scary and daunting thing. Yes, you can read the books, do the research, talk to more experience people around you, vision board it, write about it, test it out, laugh, cry, and talk some more, but none of that is ever going to tell you what it will really be like.
There will be long nights. Unreturned phone calls and emails. Takeout boxes gathering on the kitchen counter. You’ll lose touch with old friends. Make new friends. Find out who really supports you. You will be forced to ask for help when you get fed up with trying to go it alone. You’ll feel alone – a lot. And you will never feel more a part of something bigger than yourself than you ever have before.
Bringing anything new into this world deserves a freakin’ round of applause. You are a rockstar. And your baby is in your incredible, capable, creative, and strong hands. Don’t let go. Don’t quit halfway through. Don’t wallow.
Give birth. Feel that power. Rock it. And then show off all of that hard work to the world and be proud of what you made.
xo
PS – Do you have a dream you want to give birth to? Ask for help. I’m here. (just as soon as I’m back from birthing my own babe)
