And, so, I was brushing away the other day and thought:
“All of my favorite people on this planet are entrepreneurs.”
Ooooooo I wanted to go run and hug all of those amazing peeps because YES they totally do rock and YES I am so very proud of what they have created. In observing those peeps (and in being lucky enough to count myself among their kind) I have realized a few key characteristics each of them embody.
Think you aren’t an entrepreneur? Read on and then think again:
- Never settle for the status quo. Building something from nothing isn’t for those who are happy to let it be. Always feel like it could be a littlebit better? Yep. Mel & Kara did too.
- Work hard, play hard, work harder. The old adage doesn’t really suffice – you can work hard/ play hard, but then you’ve gotta work harder. And, boy, does Suzi work (and play) hard.
- Inspiration is everywhere. Do you see a tiny little tree growing in the cracks of the sidewalk and want to shout from the rooftops that perseverance rocks? Elizabeth and Angela have that entrepreneurial spirit.
- Someday is not a day of the week. When Amanda wants something done, she makes it happen. Even if it goes on a list, it has a by-when to accomplish it.
- Learning doesn’t stop at the threshold of the schools. Entrepreneurs are ravenous for books, articles, podcasts, and conferences. Racheal never stops learning.
- Passion creates profit. Those kids with the lemonade stand brought their liquid sugar refreshment to thirsty adults for a reason. Have multiple passions? So does Lauren.
- Help others to help yourself. Giving away free advice is not only a good business move, but it’s part of who you are. My friends call/email/text me all the time for the best organization/email/website system out there. And I tell them. Because I think they rock and they deserve the best, right?
- Being your true self is the only way to be. Fed up with being asked to fit into a mold? Feel like the square peg in the round hole of life? You’ve got a little entrepreneur waiting inside for you to set it free.
Being an entrepreneur (containing that spirit) means so much more than owning a business. Who is your favorite and most inspirational entrepreneur? Comment below and let me know why!
