…and the list goes on! Think of all the ways we connect with others around the planet each and every day: Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter….and let’s not forget good old email and phone and (gasp!) face to face convos. Our tribes are big, small, and everything in between. Think you’re a loner who doesn’t like to “belong” and you are exempt from this Tribe thing? Wrong-o, buddy.
The super-rad amazingness is that our Tribes are our choice! Even our family – who we add into it, who counts as fam, how we interact with them – is all our choice.
A little 5 minute productivity project:
Grab a piece of paper and write down all of YOUR Tribes. Go ahead, take 30 seconds to jot them down. Next, list the Tribes you would LIKE to belong to and cross out the Tribes you gain NO PLEASURE from partaking in. (a Tribe I quit a while ago was a group of gal pals who did nothing but complain over bottles of wine. In my opinion, wine deserves more lovin’ than gripes. Strikethrough that Tribe. Done.)
Next up (I love a good list) – write out what you want to accomplish in the next 6 months? New diet? Start a business? Write a book? Connect with family? Take that list of goals and match it up with your Tribes – who can help you get to where you want to go?? The coolest part of Tribes is that they want to help the people in their groups succeed (read: that’s you). And since you are already a part of those Tribes, all you have to do is reach out, ask for support, and setup a game plan with your Tribe-mates! If you aren’t a part of the Tribe yet, get involved! You want to be in that Tribe? Get in it. Life is in the ACTIONS. To manifest your possibilities in reality, it’s gotta get physical. The kicker is that you get your goals accomplished while interacting with your favorite peeps. WIN, WIN.
Share your list here or email me. How many Tribes are in your life and how are they supporting your awesomeness?
